Constitution Way Reconstruction set to begin this Spring

CONSTITUTIONAL WAY RECONSTRUCTION

The City of Somersworth announces that work on the reconstruction of Constitutional Way from High Street to Washington Street as a complete street project, will start this Spring. The City hired N. Granese & Sons for the project.

The Complete Street Project includes the following elements:

a. Complete reconstruction of Constitutional Way’s travel lanes and shoulders.

b. Replacement of the existing curbing and sidewalks.

c. Replacement of underground water, storm, and sewer mains.

d. Installation of stormwater treatment facilities.

e. Installation of site amenities including benches, trash receptacles, street lights, and street trees.

The project is anticipated to take approximately one (1) year to complete and is projected for completion in spring 2025. While Constitutional Way will not be closed, lane closures and on street parking restrictions will occur throughout the project to install new utilities, curbing and sidewalks and allow the contractor employees to work safely throughout the project.
