Do I need a permit to burn brush and what can I burn outside?

Yes, you do need a permit and they can be obtained at the Fire Station during normal business hours. You can only burn clean untreated wood, brush less than 5 inches in diameter or campfire wood. You cannot burn household trash, packing materials, coated or laminated papers, painted treated or painted wood-animal-vegetable and kitchen waste, plastic or metals, rubber including tires or oily rags. Penalties for illegal burning of trash may include a warning, and fines up to $100 for first offense and up to $250 for subsequent offenses.
